Planning, Design & Compliance
Crossey Engineering carried out the Mechanical, Electrical, Lighting, Connectivity, Audio Visual, & ICAT – Information Communications and Automation Technology compliance services for this facility for Infrastructure Ontario and Mackenzie Health. Commissioning compliance is being carried out by VSC for the project.
The hospital was delivered through the P3 process, and Crossey Engineering has been part of the project from concept to delivery of the finished hospital.
Canada’s First Smart Hospital
As part of Mackenzie Health, Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital is the first smart hospital in Canada, featuring fully integrated smart technology systems and medical devices that can speak directly to one another to maximize information exchange and enable improved patient care. Through modern and proven best practices, the hospital provides state-of-the-art health care and positive outcomes for patients and their families.
Crossey’s ICS2 has been at the forefront of such innovation, as the authors of the ICAT performance criteria have informed the delivery of Mackenzie Health’s vision for the new hospital. Crossey ICAT provided advice, guidance and in-depth support for the development and deployment of a Primary Modular Data Centre for the new hospital. The modular data centre is scalable (can double in a footprint under the requirements allowing as plug and play for future expansion), prefabricated and tested in a factory (allowing a 3-week installation on site), and is located outside of the “bricks and mortar” structure ensuring program space is maximized.
