The award-winning Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts, home to the Canadian Opera Company (COC) and the National Ballet of Canada, is a building in harmony with its context, designed to engage the surrounding bustling city while playing host to some of the world’s leading intimate performances in its state-of-the-art auditorium.
Crossey Engineering provided the complete mechanical design and site servicing to the 383,000 sq. ft. facility, which also includes a 2,100 seat theatre. Requirements were implemented for the mechanical system to meet N1 noise criteria inside the theatre, and run more quietly than the threshold for human hearing. With a construction cost of approximately $181 million, Crossey’s designs spanned the building’s main hall, dressing rooms, rehearsal hall, dance studios, kitchen, lobbies, and a 400 space parking garage below the centre.
VSC Group provided the mechanical, electrical, elevator, and security system commissioning for the Four Seasons Performing Arts Centre located in downtown Toronto.
