Nathan Phillips Square is an events landmark in the centre of the City of Toronto. It is a lively public gathering place. Crossey Engineering provided mechanical, electrical and lighting consulting services for the revitalization of this iconic square.
This project was divided into 5 phases which included the following areas: Agora/Theatre, reflecting pool; Peace Garden, Bike-kiosk, Information desk, Walkways and below-grade parking and access, etc.
This project is designed to meet LEED Gold Standards. The green roof garden is the country’s largest accessible green roof which was opened in May 2010 to the public with national acclaim.
This project won several national and international awards:

CSLA Regional Honour Award;
Green Roofs for Healthy Cities Award of Excellence;
DX Silver Award;
Toronto Urban Design Award of Excellence;
Canadian Architect Award; and
Governor General’s Medals in Architecture 2016 Recipient
