Osgoode Hall

Toronto, Ontario

Project Description

Crossey Engineering Ltd. provided mechanical and electrical consulting engineering services, as well as lighting design, for the renovation of this heritage building located in the heart of downtown Toronto.

The project primarily involved the complete redesign and restoration of the original Osgoode Hall. This facility houses 10 courtrooms, judges’ chambers, a library, storage space, public spaces and support offices.

The first phase of our work, in 1994, involved developing a master plan for the modernization of aged mechanical and electrical systems.

In 2005, for the second phase of construction, our design included the complete reworking of services including ventilation, air conditioning, fire protection, power, lighting, life safety, and communications. Construction proceeded in phases to allow the building to remain operational throughout the redevelopment process.
