Crossey Engineering Ltd. provided Mechanical Engineering consulting services for the new Providence Care Hospital in Kingston.
The new hospital consolidates the services currently provided at Providence Care St. Mary’s of the Lake Hospital (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Complex Continuing Care, Palliative Care, Geriatric Medicine) and Mental Health Services (Specialized Mental Health and Forensics) sites.
This is a 270 bed, 618,000 sq. ft. facility built on the existing Kingston Provincial Campus of Ontario Infrastructure and Lands Corporation.
This facility incorporates the latest technology throughout the building enhancing the patient experience as well as workplace efficiency. Security, communication and computer systems across the facility are completely modernized. Various rooms are equipped to support telemedicine and videoconferencing. Smartboards, wireless computers and electronic patient record technologies are incorporated.
The delivery method was the DBFM model. This facility is designed to achieve LEED Silver designation.
