St. Mary's General Hospital

Kitchener, Ontario

Project Description

Located in the heart of Kitchener, Ontario, St. Mary’s (SMGH) is the second-largest acute care hospital in the St. Joseph’s Health System and a Regional Cardiac Care Centre. St. Mary’s General Hospital proudly serves the residents of Waterloo, Wellington County, and extends its reach to Dufferin, Grey-Bruce and beyond.

St Mary’s continues to undergo major renovations to better serve the public. Crossey Engineering is providing Electrical, Mechanical, ICAT, Connectivity and Security design services that support a number of these updates. These include a completely new Cardiac Care unit and Heart Rhythm unit. Construction is staged in multiple phases to allow the facility to remain open throughout the process.

Our recently completed scope for the CCTV system upgrade included the development and installation of a new fibre optic backbone supporting the new system as a dedicated structure. The new CCTV system is managed by a new headend platform housed in a purpose-built communications room. As part of the new deployment, there is a newly upgraded user-friendly security office with user-friendly interface to the CCTV camera system.

Crossey provides ongoing support to SMGH.
