Project Description

Crossey Engineering Ltd. provided electrical engineering consulting services for the conceptual design and Consullux provided lighting design up to design development for the Region of Waterloo Doon Heritage Crossroads.

This project included the design of the new Regional History Museum and Visitor Orientation Centre and the expansion of the existing Waterloo Regional Curatorial Centre.

The new building is a single-storey structure of approximately 44,538 sq. ft. and includes exhibition space. The expansion of 5,317 sq. ft. is exhibit design and fabrication spaces. The project also included an office area, storage, gift shop, a library, theatre (1,500 sq. ft.), conservation labs, artifact holding room, etc.

The new museum building was designed and constructed to achieve LEED Silver Standard.
